Baby Attitude

Listen up!

Too many parents remain unaware of
the dangers suffocation poses to their infants.
Spread the word by sending them
an email with some baby attitude.

Safe Sleep Space

It's important that your baby have his/her own space, dedicated to sleep and naptime.

Creating a safe sleep environment is as easy as ABC.

  • Alone: Babies should sleep alone in his/her own space, with no people or objects next to the baby that may obstruct his/her airway.
  • Bedding: A baby's sleep surface should have no loose bedding, blankets, toys, crib bumpers, or stuffed animals. These, too, can shift and suffocate the baby.
  • Crib: The safest way for a baby to sleep during naptime or bedtime is on his/her back, in an empty crib. Babies should not sleep on an adult bed, waterbed, sofa, or other soft surface.

Bed Sharing

  • Infants can sleep in the same room as his or her parents but in their own crib.
  • Love your baby, bond with your baby, but don't sleep with your baby.
  • Share the room but not the bed. Keep your baby's sleep area close to, but separate from, where you sleep due to risk of suffocation.
